At the start of the tournament I’d hoped to blog every day but between shooting photos, editing, travelling, admin and the
occasional bit of sleeping and eating, I’ve just not had the time. So here’s a selection of my favourite photos up to the
end of the group stages. I’ll try to blog more going forward!
England v Panama
For the second England match, I opted to shoot from the tribune, i.e. up in the stands, as I hoped there would be a few
goals and it was a 3pm kick-off so the light was good.
Nigeria v Argentina
Next up was Argentina’s crunch match against Nigeria where they had to win to qualify for the knockout rounds. A late goal
from Marcos Rojo was enough to get them through.
Belgium v England
My last group game was also England’s last, in Kaliningrad against Belgium. Both teams had qualified already and played
their B teams with England arguably getting the easier side of the draw despite losing 1-0. It meant a much easier and
cheaper itinerary for us in the knockout rounds so for once, we weren’t too unhappy to see England lose.
